Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Adil Karimli met with the staff of the Azerbaijan State Yugh Theatre. During the meeting on October 10, which was held on the second floor of the Azerbaijan State Puppet Theater named after A. Shaig, the Minister emphasized the important role of the "Yugh" theater in Azerbaijani culture. It was mentioned that the theater not only presents interesting performances and projects but also successfully represents Azerbaijan abroad.
Director of the Azerbaijan State Yugh Theatre Islam Hasanov thanked the Minister for the participation in the meeting with the staff of the theater.
According to the director, the theater has experienced difficulties for years due to not having its own building. It was mentioned that the "Yugh" Theater, which has been functioning as a studio since 1989 and as a state theater since 1992, has been using the building of the Azerbaijan State Puppet Theater since 2016. This problem of space has a negative impact on creative activity and the work process.
Chief director of the theater Mikayil Mikayilov, People's Artist Mammadsafa Gasimov, honored artists Sonakhanim Mikayilova and Gulzar Gurbanova, as well as actor and director Abdulgani Aliyev, discussed the achievements, creative process, and current challenges of the theater.
Adil Karimli said that the building problem is being addressed and will be solved soon. He also mentioned that the Ministry is ready to support initiatives and creative proposals for the development of theatrical art.
At the end of the meeting, the Minister wished the team success in their creative endeavors.
