Azerbaijan Cultural Center Celebrates 530th Birth Anniversary of Poet Muhammad Fuzuli with 'The Poet in My Heart' Event
The Azerbaijan Cultural Center organized an event titled "The Poet in My Heart" (Der poet in mir) to celebrate the 530th anniversary of the birth of the distinguished figure in Azerbaijani literature, thinker, and poet Muhammad Fuzuli.
Speeches were delivered by Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Germany Nasimi Aghayev and German Orientalist Dr. Michael Raynhard Hess at the event, which was held upon the order of President Ilham Aliyev on the Occasion of the 530th Anniversary of the Birth of the Great Azerbaijani Poet Mahammad Fuzuli. They emphasized that Fuzuli's creative work is a significant contribution to the global cultural heritage of the Azerbaijani people, pointing out that his work "Leyli and Majnun" is a gem in the country's literature. They also emphasized that his writings have a profound influence not only on the development of Azerbaijani literary and artistic thought but also on the literature of the Near and Middle East.
After the speeches, the ensemble "Anima Shirvani," led by the famous musician Tural Ismayilov, who lives in Germany, presented a blend of Azerbaijani mugham, folk songs, and classical German and English Baroque music. The poems of the famous poet were recited by Naibe Tural and Aydin Habibov.
During the event, it was mentioned that a postage stamp has been issued in Germany to commemorate the 530th anniversary of Fuzuli's birth.
