The International Animation Festival of the Turkic World (ATA Festival) was held as part of "Baku Cinema Breeze" (BCB), organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and supported by the Cinema Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Organized by TURKSOY and the Association of Turkic Animation (ATA), the event aimed to promote collabrotion and cultural exchange among Turkic-speaking countries through the art of animation.
At the opening ceremony of the festival, Kayrat Mukanov, Advisor to the Secretary General of TURKSOY, noted the significant progress in the film industry of Azerbaijan. He mentioned that such events would help to create a platform for the exchange of filmmakers influencing the market, in addition to supporting joint projects.
Masud Panahi from Azerbaijan, Mazur Mahmudov from Uzbekistan, Salimgali Mirzashev from Kazakhstan, Kanybek Omurbekov from Kyrgyzstan, Mojek Charyyev from Turkmenistan, Berat Ilk from Turkey, and Elchin Akhundov, who were awarded "for their contribution to the development of the animated film industry" at the event, thanked the organizers and all those who did not forget their contributions.
At the Creative Center, a meeting was held by distinguished animated film director Dmitriy Vysotsky, and Oktay Iyusibov, Chairman of the Animation Association of Turkic States, held a meeting on the topic of "Creating animated series for the international market" and discussed the issues of co-production of animated series within the framework of ATA with international partners. The discussion covered various topics such as the animation industry in the TURKSOY countries, the influence of government bodies on the development of creative sectors in our countries, policies related to co-productions, Kyrgyzstan's experience in creating a Creative Industrial Park, the establishment of a Center for Creative Industries and Digital Development in Azerbaijan, and issues related to state support, tax incentives, subsidies, and copyright. "ATA: The Best Animated Films of the Turkic World" was screened at the Azerbaijan Cinema, while the photo exhibition "Turkic World: Animation Scenes" presented storyboards, character sketches, and backgrounds from classic animated films of the Turkic people.
The exhibition provides a deep insight into the rich heritage of Turkic animation and serves as a source of inspiration for filmmakers and animators.
