It is the fourth anniversary of the 44-day Patriotic War, a significant chapter in our modern history that ended with a triumphant victory. On September 27, 2020, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, under the command of President and Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, launched a counterattack to liberate our historic lands after a major provocation by the occupying Armenian forces.
The unprecedented sacrifice and courage of our soldiers led to the liberation of our lands, occupied by the enemy for thirty years, in just 44 days, and to the restoration of the territorial integrity of our country. In the war, our brave man rose to the height of martyrdom. By the order of President Ilham Aliyev of December 2, 2020, September 27 was declared the Day of Remembrance in Azerbaijan in honor of our soldiers, officers who bravely fought in the war, and those who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of our country.
Every year, on the Day of Remembrance, we honor the cgerished memory of our martyrs with a feeling of sorrow and pride. We express our gratitude for the great services rendered to our motherland by these brave sons.
On September 27, the Deputy Minister of Culture, the Chief of Staff, employees of structural units and heads of major cultural institutions under the Ministry, and well-known cultural figures laid flowers at the memorial stone at the entrance to the Victory Park under construction in Baku to honor the immortal souls of the heroic children of the Motherland.
May Allah have mercy on all our martyrs!
