As a part of the 'Culture Week of Azerbaijan,' an exhibition and a grand gala concert were organized in Tirana to commemorate the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar AliyevThe opening ceremony of the 'Culture Week of Azerbaijan, covering the dates of August 31–September 3, was held. An exhibition was opened in the National History Museum of Tirana, followed by a gala concert at Iskander Square in the city, with the accompaniment of the Azerbaijan State Chamber Orchestra named after Gara Garayev. Taking place in Albania in the 'Heydar Aliyev Year,' the ongoing exhibition, lasting until September 2, serves as a platform to highlight the significant life journey and the vast, diverse legacy of the national leader. The event features the “Architect of Progress“ photo exhibition by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, noteworthy artworks from the collection of the National Art Museum of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani carpets from the National Carpet Museum, and an array of archival photos. As part of the “Culture Week of Azerbaijan,“ a concert featuring compositions by distinguished Azerbaijani composers was performed before the audience at Iskander Square in Tirana, accompanied by the Azerbaijan State Chamber Orchestra named after Gara Garayev. The staff of the Ministry of Culture visited the grave of national leader Heydar AliyevOn May 10, our country celebrates the centennial of the father of the modern independent state of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev. The name of the world-famous politician and esteemed statesman, Heydar Aliyev, is linked with over three decades of Azerbaijan's history. During both periods of his leadership in our republic, the national leader was a true supporter of our culture, taking great care to nurture its development and ensure that our rich cultural heritage and art are recognized and promoted worldwide. The memory of the brilliant leader who holds a special place in our history is always cherished by those working in the field of culture, just like all the people of Azerbaijan. The staff of the Ministry of Culture visited the national leader's grave on May 10. Employees of the Ministry visited the grave of Heydar Aliyev and paid their respects by laying flowers before it. ..

On May 5, the exhibition "Chronicle of History" and the documentary film "Our National Wealth" were showcased to the public by the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum in connection with the declaration of 2023 as the "Year of Heydar Aliyev" by the Order of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. A video projection was used to bring to life the images and motifs that shape the intricate composition of the carpets featured in the exhibition. Capital theater and music groups tour regionsIn honor of the 150th anniversary of Azerbaijan's national theater and as part of the “Year of Heydar Aliyev,“ several theaters and music groups based in the capital are launching new tours to different regions. The purpose of the tour organized by the Ministry of Culture on April 22 and 24 is to revitalize cultural life in the regions, provide meaningful leisure time for the population, especially the youth, facilitate close communication with local creative groups, and exchange beneficial experiences. As part of the project, the Variety Ensemble of the Azerbaijan State Song Theater will perform for music lovers on April 22 at the Shamakhi Culture Center (at 15:00). On the same day, Arslan Novrasli's jazz group will perform an ethno-jazz concert at the Khachmaz Culture Center named after Heydar Aliyev (at 16:00). The April 24 schedule includes three performances: Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theater will stage “Talking Doll“ in Lankaran State Drama Theater (14:00), Azerbaijan State Puppet Theater after A. Shaig will perform “Malikmammad“ in Gusar Lezgi State Drama Theater (12:00), and Azerbaijan State Pantomime Theater will present “Pantomime Bouquet“ in Ismayilli Culture Centre (14:00). People showing keen interest in the largest art project of the period of independenceRegistration for the Children's Art Festival is currently underway. The First Children's Art Festival, organized by the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Science and Education, and the Heydar Aliyev Center in honor of the 100th anniversary of Azerbaijan's national leader Heydar Aliyev, is still open for registration. As of March 16, nearly 15,000 children from various cities and regions had registered for the festival. Anyone aged 6 to 17 is eligible to participate in the Children's Art Festival, which includes 21 different categories.  The festival will feature professional and amateur categories across three age groups (6–9 years old, 10–13 years old, and 14–17 years old). First theater forum to take place in Azerbaijan Theater forum “Azerbaijan theater—150: development prospects“ will take place on April 10–11, 2023, under the joint organization of the Ministry of Culture and the Heydar Aliyev Center, with the participation of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts, as part of the 100th-anniversary events honoring national leader Heydar Aliyev. The Heydar Aliyev Center will host the official opening ceremony of the forum on April 10. The event will feature a video presentation that illustrates the 150-year history of Azerbaijan's professional national theater. Later, the forum will proceed with panel discussions around topics such as “Traditions and trends in the Azerbaijani theater“, “Modern acting school in the national theater: a systematic approach in the renewal process“, “Conception and strategic goals“ and “Development of human capital in the field of theater“. The event's program includes speeches from Grigory Zaslavsky, an Honored Art Worker of the Russian Federation and Rector of the Russian Theater Art Institute (GITIS), and Elshan Mammadov, a producer and head of the department of the Russian Theater Art Institute (GITIS). The proposals collected from the exchange of ideas and discussions during the forum will be taken into account in the action plan developed for the State Strategy of Azerbaijani Culture for 2020–2040. The forum is to be attended by well-known theater figures, directors, and actors from across the country, management and creative teams of theaters operating in the capital and regions, representatives of folk and independent theaters, as well as educators and students from the University of Culture and Arts.
