The delegation visiting Astana to participate in the Days of Azerbaijani Culture commemorated our martyrs at our
embassy in Kazakhstan on the 4th anniversary of the beginning of the 44-day Patriotic War, September 27—Remembrance Day. The Azerbaijani delegation and the Embassy staff took part in the commemorative event and paid tribute to the national leader Heydar Aliyev by laying flowers at his monument in the Embassy building.Then flowers were laid in front of the memorial corner dedicated to our martyrs, and the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Adil Karimli, spoke about the historical significance of Remembrance Day.
He emphasized that this history shows the strength of the Azerbaijani state and the unity of our people. The 44-day Patriotic War has been inscribed in the history of Azerbaijan with golden letters. Under the leadership of President and Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani Army achieved a glorious victory, liberating our territories occupied by Armenia for 30 years in a short span of time: "We remember with compassion our martyrs, who imbued our people with the timeless spirit of victory. Thanks to the sacrifices of the brave sons of the motherland, the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan have been fully restored. Today, all our fellow Azerbaijanis living abroad pay tribute to the martyrs with deep respect. The date of September 27 will remain forever in the memory of the Azerbaijani people," the minister said.
The Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan, Aghalar Atamoghlanov, and other speakers emphasized that the sacrifices of our martyrs for the motherland were not in vain, the borders of our country are now united, and the Armenian separatism in Karabakh has been permanently eliminated.
