The Annecy International Animation Film Festival took place in Annecy, France. Under the organization of the Ministry of Culture, the members of the Azerbaijan Animation Association Elchin Hami Akhundov, Nazrin Aghamaliyeva, Ogtay Yusibov, Rashid Aghamaliyev, and Shahin Aliyev represented our country at the festival. This year over 17,000 spectators and guests visited the biggest animation festival in the world. The names of the winners of the festival are published on the official website of the festival.
The Turkic Animation Association (ATA) and the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) shared a stand at the MIFA Market during the festival. The stand featured animation products, projects, associations and festivals from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Türkiye. The catalog "Animation of Turkic Countries 2024" was one of the highlights of the stand.
The joint stand project of ATA and TURKSOY was implemented as part of the "Creative Azerbaijan" program for the development of creative industries with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and the International Organization of Turkic Culture. Animation director Ravan Muradov (Crambone Inventive League) also took part in the Annecy Festival. He was able to participate in the festival thanks to the award "Best Azerbaijani Short Animation Film" at the 6th ANIMAFILM International Animation Festival for the film "The Half - "What if we die".
The next Annecy International Animation Film Festival will be held on June 8-14, 2025.
