On November 16, within the framework of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) hosted by our country, a meeting was held between Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan Adil Karimli and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador and President of the Petra National Trust Princess Dana Firas of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The minister welcomed the guest and thanked her for active participation in this prestigious event. He highlighted the strong cooperation between the two countries, based on mutual trust, and stressed the wide prospects for further cultural cooperation.
The Princess expressed her pleasure at visiting our country and participating in the highly organized COP29 event. She shared that she had watched the performance of Mangurt based on the motifs of Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aytmatov's A Day Equal to an Age at the Azerbaijan State Pantomime Theater the previous evening, and was deeply impressed by the mastery of the actors.
The conversation included an exchange of views on the issues addressed within COP29 and climate and cultural heritage agenda.
