As part of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Baku, bilateral meetings are being held with foreign delegations and representatives of international organizations.
On November 18, a meeting was held with a delegation from TikTok social media platform.
The meeting was attended by Helena Lersch, TikTok's Vice President for Public Policy; Sergey Sokolov, Director of Government Relations and Corporate Affairs in Eastern Europe; and Emin Akhundov, the company's advisor for public institutions.
Minister of Culture Adil Karimli welcomed the delegation and thanked the guests for attending this prestigious event hosted by Azerbaijan.
During the conversation, the importance of the #LearnOnTikTok competition organized earlier this year with the support of the Ministry of Culture was highlighted. It was mentioned that users created and shared over 20,000 educational videos in two months.
The ministry expressed interest in producing new, relevant cultural content on the platform and in continuing cooperation in this regard.
The meeting continued with an exchange of views on cultural projects.
