On October 30, a concert of Azerbaijani national music and dances took place in honor of November 8 - Victory Day The event was jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Embassy of our country in Cuba, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Cuba and the Historic Havana City Administration.
The event at the "Danza Teatro Retazos" theater in Havana was attended by representatives from the Cuban Ministries of Foreign Affairs, and Culture, the Historic Havana City Administration, the diplomatic corps, and the embassies of Turkiye, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Russia, Georgia, Chile, Venezuela, Grenada, Niger, members of the local community and other guests.
Our ambassador to Cuba, Ruslan Rzayev, started the event with a speech. He provided information about the rich cultural heritage of Azerbaijan including mugham and national dances, highlighted mugham's significant place in Azerbaijani music and its recognition by UNESCO as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Simurg" mugham group featuring soloist Miralam Miralamov, Elnur Mikayilov on kamancha, Honored artist Kamran Karimov on naghara, and Zaki Valiyev on tar, performed the pearls of Azerbaijani mugham. Additionally, the Azerbaijan State Dance Ensemble presented samples of our national dances.
Before the event, our national dances were performed in the center of Havana "Plaza de Armas".
The program, which aroused great interest among the audience and the local community, was received with applause.
