On December 4, Minister of Culture Adil Karimli met with Muhammad Saleh Ahmed Tourig, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Yemen to Azerbaijan. The minister congratulated the ambassador on commencing his duties and wished him success, stressing Azerbaijan's commitment to cooperation with Muslim nations as a member of the Islamic world. It was emphasized that culture is an important tool for building bridges between peoples. There is a need for the creation of a legal framework for cultural cooperation between Azerbaijan and Yemen, and Azerbaijan is ready to move forward in this direction.
Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, Ambassador Muhammad Saleh Ahmed Tourig expressed satisfaction with his diplomatic role in Azerbaijan. He confirmed his commitment to establishing relations between the two countries in various fields, including culture, during his tenure.
During the discussion, opinions were exchanged on the education of Yemeni youth in Azerbaijani art institutions, as well as on the possibilities of gaining experience in libraries, museums, and preservation of cultural heritage.
