Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum Hosts International Conference on Resources and Culture: From Archaeology to New Technology
Amina Malikova, Director of the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum, opened the event with information about the history and activities of the museum. Elena Titova, Director of the All-Russian Museum of Decorative Arts, gave a speech in which she emphasized the importance of the conference. She noted that during three days interesting reports would be presented and useful ideas and experiences would be exchanged.
After exchanging souvenirs, the directors of the two museums proceeded to an academic session on "Inter-museum cooperation in the CIS”. The panel exhibition "Heritage of Union. Traditions for the Future" was also presented as part of the session.
Museum directors and specialists from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan are taking part in the international event, which will continue until December 5. The academic sessions will include discussions on such topics as "Museum and People," "Museum and Information Resources," "Nature and Traditions as a Source of Inspiration," "The Ancient Foundations of Eurasian Cultures: Archetypes, Symbolism, Archaeological Artifacts," "Decorative Art of the CIS Peoples," and "The Role of the Modern Museum in Preserving Traditions." Additionally, a cultural program will be organized as part of the conference.
The conference was jointly organized as part of the multi-year complex program "Heritage of the Union. Traditions for the Future" by the All-Russian Museum of Decorative Arts and the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States.
