The XVI Forum of Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia of the member countries and the 38th meeting of the Council for Cultural Cooperation of the CIS member states took place in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, on September 12–13.

The delegation headed by Oleg Amirbeyov, advisor to the Minister of Culture, also took part in the event.

People's Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan, opera singer of Azerbaijan and Russia Dinara Aliyeva, and Honored Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan, tar performer Shahriyar Imanov, were among the winners of the next award ceremony of "Stars of the Commonwealth" and "Commonwealth of Debuts", which took place within the framework of the event.

The 38th meeting of the Council for Cultural Cooperation of the CIS member states began on the same day.

Various issues were discussed at the meeting.

The XVI Forum of Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia of the CIS member states, attended by about 200 representatives from the member countries, ended with the adoption of the final declaration, which provides for the agreement on the intensification of cooperative activities in the field of science and culture on September 13. "Simurg" Ensemble from Azerbaijan Wins Grand Prix at the 13th Sharq Taronalari Festival in UzbekistanThe Grand Prix of the 13th Sharq Taronalari International Music Festival, held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, from August 26–30, was awarded to the “Simurg“ mugham ensemble from Azerbaijan. Maestro Niyazi’s Memory Honored in the Alley of HonorAugust 20 was the 112th anniversary of the birth of the world-famous conductor and composer, People's Artist of Azerbaijan and the USSR, Hero of Socialist Labor, and receiver of state awards, Niyazi (Niyazi Tagızadeh-Hajibeyov; 1912–1984). National Cinema Day Celebrated with Ceremony The 126th anniversary of cinema in Azerbaijan was celebrated on August 2. This important date dates back to August 2, 1898, when the first films were publicly screened in Baku. According to the order signed by the national leader Heydar Aliyev on December 18, 2000, August 2 was declared the “National Cinema Day“ of Azerbaijan.
