On April 19, "Garabaghnama," based on the play "The Ruler and His Daughter" by Ilyas Afandiyev, will be performed on the stage of the Heydar Aliyev Center. Honored artist Ismayil Mammadov is the production designer of "Garabaghnama," the two-part performance based on Ilyas Afandiyev's "The Ruler and His Daughter." The play was first presented in 1996 and met with great success. On September 20, 1997, national leader Heydar Aliyev attended and enjoyed a performance of the play at the National Drama Theater. The national leader emphasized the significance of fostering patriotism, independence, and an appreciation for history, particularly among young people. He also stressed the importance of creating a feature film based on the play. In 2008, "The Fate of the Ruler," a two-part film inspired by the play, was shown as part of the celebrations honoring national leader Heydar Aliyev's 85th birthday.
"Garabaghnama," which is based on Ilyas Afandiyev's "The Ruler and His Daughter," made its debut on March 10, 2011, and has since been presented 79 times under the same name. Tickets for the 80th performance of "Garabaghnama" at the Heydar Aliyev Center can be purchased at the Center's box office, the iTicket.az website, and other sales points.
