The Academic National Drama Theater presented its production of "Malikmammad" in ShakiAs part of the “Year of Heydar Aliyev“, eight leading theaters from the capital toured the regions during the Novruz holidays under the organization of the Ministry of Culture. Cultural institutions were inspected in Aghstafa, Gazakh, Tovuz, and ShamkirA delegation from the Ministry of Culture, led by the First Deputy Minister of Culture and Acting Minister of Culture Adil Karimli, visited Aghstafa, Gazakh, Tovuz, and Shamkir on March 11 to evaluate the working conditions and technical resources of cultural establishments operating in the districts. The delegation inspected several establishments, including the Heydar Aliyev Center, the City Children’s Music School named after Huseyn Arif, the State Art Gallery, the Centralized Library System (CLS), the Museum of History and Local Studies, and the Culture Center in Aghstafa district. Additionally, the Folklore Club No. 1 of the District Culture Center, Library Branch No. 2 of Daghkasaman Village, and Village House of Culture were examined. During the visit to the Gazakh district, the delegation examined the Heydar Aliyev Center, Literary Museum, Museum of History and Local Studies, CLS, Culture Center, Gazakh State Drama Theater, State Art Gallery, Israfil Agha Bath, and several other cultural establishments in the region. Huseynov conducted the first-ever archeological excavations in the area, discovering about 30 caves from the Stone Age period and around two thousand tools on Avey Mountain. Under a memorandum signed in 2015 between the Tokyo University Museum of Japan, the current Institute of Archaeology, Ethnography, and Anthropology of ANAS, and the Avey“ Reserve, the Japanese and Azerbaijani experts continue archeological research in the area. As part of its visit to Tovuz district, the delegation viewed the Azerbaijan State Ashig Art Museum, the first of its kind worldwide. Valuable exhibits, showcasing the history and current state of Azerbaijani ashig art, are housed in the modern museum, which was established under the direction of President Ilham Aliyev and put into operation with his participation. The People's Artist Ali Asgarov diedAzerbaijani culture suffers a great loss. Ali Asgarov, a renowned vocalist, People's Artist, soloist of the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, passed away on February 23 at the age of 62. Ali Rahim oghlu Asgarov was born on November 25, 1961 in Baku. He graduated from the vocal department and post-graduate course at the Azerbaijan State Conservatory named after U. Hajibeyli (currently known as the Baku Academy of Music). He completed his studies at the Azim Azimzadeh State Art College in 1962 and the Kyiv State Art Institute in 1973 as a muralist. In 1976, he was elected as a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR, and his artworks were exhibited in Russia, Germany, Turkiye, and our country. The artist's creative work has a special focus on stained glass artwork. He is the author of various stained-glass compositions in the Union of Azerbaijan Artists (“Flora and Fauna“, 1973), in Samad Vurgun's House-Museum (1975), and stained-glass portraits of M. Fuzuli and M. Sh. Vazeh in the Institute of Manuscripts of Azerbaijan National Academy of Science, as well as stained-glass windows in the Bibiheybat Mosque. Among the stained glass works of particular interest are “Crystal Structure“, “Rhythmic Composition I“, “Stuffiness“, “Flight“, “Metamorphosis“, “Nocturne“, “Modern Rhythms“, “Major Composition“ and other pieces. The artist's artwork, “Musicians“ was awarded a medal at the Exhibition of National Economic Achievements in Moscow in 1976 (the artistic design of the “Inshaatchilar“ metro station). First Children's Art Festival to celebrate Heydar Aliyev's 100th anniversaryThe Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Science and Education, and the Heydar Aliyev Center will jointly organize the First Children's Art Festival to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Azerbaijani national leader Heydar Aliyev. Fostering development in the sphere of culture, and educating children in the spirit of patriotism, culture, art, and traditions is the main objective of the festival, inspired by the national leader Heydar Aliyev's devotion to the promotion of culture and youth. The festival will comprise three stages, and professionals (those enrolled in relevant educational programs in relevant educational institutions) and amateurs (those engaged in mastering this field in various courses, clubs, or individually) aged 6–17 years will compete in three age groups (6–9 years old, 10–13 years old, and 14–17 years old). The festival is open to groups, associations, solo artists, dancers, artistic reciters, musicians, artists, and talented individuals engaged in decorative and applied arts. Registration will be open on the www.uif.az website from February 20 to March 30. The first district (city) stage of the festival will take place between April and June 2023. First Deputy Minister of Culture Adil Karimli meets citizens in Shaki Adil Karimli, the First Deputy Minister of Culture and Acting Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan met with citizens on February 17 at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Shaki, in accordance with the schedule for the reception of citizens in cities and districts by the heads of central executive authorities and other administrative bodies in February. The Ministry of Culture inspects cultural institutions in AghsuThe First Deputy Minister of Culture Adil Karimli together with the officials of the Ministry visited the Heydar Aliyev Center, Central Library, Cultural Center, the House of Culture, Aghsu City Children’s Music School, and Aghsu Museum of History and Local Studies. During the visit, they evaluated the working conditions and material and technical resources of these establishments and provided appropriate instructions to improve working conditions, support creative individuals, including talented youth, create opportunities for their participation in local and national contests, and enhance training conditions.
