A commemorative postage stamp dedicated to Shusha, the ancient cradle of Azerbaijani literature and art, declared the "Cultural Capital of the Turkic world" by TURKSOY for 2023, has been released.

The stamp, made using the design of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev in Uzbekistan, was produced by the Central Post Office of Uzbekistan.

The stamp depicts the Shusha fortress, the Azerbaijani flag, the enchanting Karabakh scenery including Shusha and its misty majestic mountains, the world-famous Shusha intellectuals and poets who brought glory and fame to the region and the city, our national musical instruments (gaval, tar, kamancha) reflecting our culture, and the kharibulbul flower symbolizing Karabakh, Shusha, and our historical victory.

It is worth mentioning that the project was supported by relevant state institutions in Uzbekistan, and the Central Post Office of Uzbekistan intends to release the stamp for circulation in the country and abroad.

The stamp "Ancient city of Shusha of Azerbaijan, the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World" will be sent to museums in Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan and to state and government officials of both countries. Presentation ceremonies will be held in Tashkent and Baku.
