On October 10, Minister of Culture Adil Karimli visited the Azerbaijan State Puppet Theater, where he met and talked with the team.
The Minister noted that it was no coincidence that the first meeting with state theater institutions began with this theater, which has been a hotbed of art for 93 years and preserves national puppet traditions.
It was mentioned that the theater stands out for its activity in planning indicators, diverse repertoire, national and international tours, and participation in international festivals.
Discussing the future goals and objectives, the Minister pointed out the importance of meeting the challenges of the new era in the operation of the theater. Emphasis was placed on developing a repertoire policy that respects national traditions while incorporating modern art trends and the global theatrical process; attracting talented and qualified young people to the art center; and ensuring that creative and technical staff attend advanced training courses and master classes overseas.
The Minister emphasized the importance of the continuation of the national touring marathon and wished the team of the art center new creative successes.
The director of the Azerbaijan State Puppet Theatre and honored cultural worker Rashad Ahmadzadeh thanked the minister for the sincere meeting and kind words about the work of the team.
The director emphasized that they always feel the attention and care of the Ministry in their activities. Referring to the Azerbaijan State Puppet Theatre, as the center of five puppet theaters in the country, he expressed the wish to acknowledge the efforts of the puppeteers working behind the scenes.
Noting the regular participation of the theater in prestigious international festivals, the director expressed the necessity of implementing a new project similar to the "Jirtdan" Baku International Puppet Theatre Festival held in our country.
