Starting from the academic year 2024/2025, the curricula of music and art schools will include compositions of modern local composers.
The representatives of the Ministry of Culture and the Union of Composers of Azerbaijan discussed this at their meeting. They agreed to continue the process from time to time and to include new compositions in the curricula after proper analysis.
With the support of the Ministry of Culture, the music samples prepared by the Union of Composers of Azerbaijan will be systematically presented to the above-mentioned schools both in electronic and paper form.
The program will include Firangiz Alizadeh's "Victory March", piano pieces by Elnara Dadashova and Adila Yusifova, Adila Yusifova's cantata "Summer Tale", as well as works for children by Sardar Farajov, Faig Naghiyev, Mehriban Ahmadova, Zabita Mammadova, Jahangir Zulfugarov, Pike Akhundova, Ilaha Kismet and other composers.
The primary goal of this initiative is to help the new generation of musicians master traditional and modern musical styles, whilst supporting the creativity of modern composers.
With the updated curriculum, students of music and art schools will be exposed to a diverse repertoire and further develop their knowledge and skills in the field.
