The opening ceremony of the "Summer School in Fuzuli" project took place on August 15 at the Children's Creative Center named after Kurmangazy in Fuzuli. The goal of the project is to provide engaging and fun summer activities for Fuzuli schoolchildren who have come back to their homeland.
The project, which will continue until August 18, is organized by the Ministry of Culture with the support of the Ministry of Science and Education, as well as the special representation of the President in Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavand.
Schoolchildren of Fuzuli City Ulugbey Secondary School No. 1, which was a gift from the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and opened in August 2023, also take part in the project.
The opening ceremony began with the national anthem, and then a minute of silence was held in memory of the martyrs who died for the independence and territorial integrity of our country.
Rafiga Bakhshiyeva, an employee of the Ministry of Culture and the coordinator of the summer school, spoke about the purpose of the project and the planned activities. She thanked all the institutions that supported the summer school.
Later, the team of the Children's Creative Center named after Kurmangazy performed literary and artistic pieces in Azerbaijani and Kazakh languages. Fuzuli schoolchildren performed Azerbaijani mughams and Kazakh folklore samples; dances from both cultures were demonstrated; and the center's choir presented musical performances.
During the day, schoolchildren took part in drawing lessons, a wood carving master class, and fun games.
At the end of the day, a survey was organized with the students to collect their impressions of the event.
It's worth mentioning that the summer school is made possible by the joint efforts of the public and private sectors. Companies such as "Sirab," "Azerchay," and "North West" also support the project.
