This year, the Azerbaijan State Pantomime Theater celebrates its 30th anniversary, and on this occasion, a meeting with the staff of the theater was held at the Ministry of Culture on May 17.
The Minister of Culture, Adil Karimli, congratulated the staff and wished them creative success.
It was noted that the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and the First Vice-President, Head of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Mehriban Aliyeva, show great care and dedication to the development of the cultural sphere in our country. The theater sector is also the focus of attention of the head of the country. The recent elevation of the Azerbaijan State Youth Theater and the Ganja State Drama Theater to "national" status is a clear sign of this commitment.
Pantomime theater occupies a unique place in the history of modern Azerbaijani stage art. The new theatrical aesthetics presented by the creative team attract attention and sympathy not only locally but also in a number of countries.
It was noted that the activities of the Pantomime Theater, as well as those of our other theaters, are highly appreciated by the head of state, and its employees have received several state awards.
The artistic director of the theater, People's Artist Bakhtiyar Khanizadeh, delivered a speech in which he expressed his gratitude for the recognition of the theater's efforts. He noted that their theater has had the opportunity to participate in four international festivals in recent months, which would not have been possible without the government's support.

Speaking on behalf of the staff of the Azerbaijan State Theater for Young Audiences, its director, Naida Ismayilzadeh, expressed gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva for granting "national" status to the art center she oversees. During the meeting, the staff of the theater was presented with an honorary diploma from the Ministry of Culture on the occasion of the anniversary. A photo was then taken to commemorate the event.
By order of the Ministry of Culture, the Azerbaijan State Pantomime Theater, previously known as the "Insane Assembly" Pantomime theater-studio, was founded on May 16, 1994, under the theater of Young Spectators.
The foundation of the theater was laid by the people's artist Bakhtiyar Khanizadeh, associate professor of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts. In 2000, it was officially recognized as a "state" theater.
The repertoire of the theater includes classics of Azerbaijani and world literature, as well as plays by contemporary authors. The team has successfully promoted the theatrical culture of our country at several international festivals in which it has participated.
