On December 21, a delegation headed by Tariq Bakheet, Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, visited the Ministry of Culture.
Deputy Minister of Culture Farid Jafarov welcomed the guests and noted the upward trend of relations between the OIC and our country. He mentioned that the opportunities for cooperation in the field of culture are expanding.
Responding to the warm welcome and kind words, T. Bakheet expressed his gratitude and said that the organization attaches great importance to relations with our country. He pointed to the OIC's unwavering support for justice during the occupation of Karabakh and stressed the importance of reflecting this stance in official documents. During the meeting, the guests were also informed about Azerbaijan's extensive repair and restoration efforts aimed at restoring the cultural heritage destroyed in Karabakh.
The guests noted that they look forward to the organization of joint international events in the field of culture in Shusha in the near future and expressed their satisfaction with the implementation of the OIC resolutions.
During the meeting, there was an exchange of views on the ongoing projects on the bilateral agenda, including the events planned for the year "Shusha as the Cultural Capital of the Islamic World 2024" and the VI World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue to be held in our country within the framework of the Baku Process.
At the end of the meeting, the sides exchanged souvenirs.
