As reported earlier, on April 11-12, the theater forum titled "Azerbaijani Theater - 150: development prospects" was held in Baku as part of the "Year of Heydar Aliyev".
The forum, jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture and the Heydar Aliyev Center with the participation of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts (ADMIU), continued its work on April 12 with the first-panel meeting on "Conception and strategic goals". The meeting addressed topics such as the "National theater development strategy," "Formation of audience demand and stimulation of audience flow," "Marketing and advertising strategy," and "The role of independent theaters in the contemporary theater process."
In the discussion moderated by the deputy director of the Azerbaijan State Academic Musical Theater, Vafa Muhajirova Bakhtiyar Khanizadeh, the artistic director of the Azerbaijan State Pantomime Theater, shared his thoughts on theater and education, while Naida Ismayilzadeh, the director of the Azerbaijan State Theater of young Spectators expressed her views on reforms, traditions, festivals, and modern requirements in the theater industry. Vidadi Hasanov, the head of "M Teatr", highlighted the problems faced by independent theaters, and Gumrah Omar, the production director of the Azerbaijan State Yug Theater, talked about the director's work and the exchange of experience.
During the panel discussion, Tarlan Rasul, head of "dOM" theater, talked about a specific approach to solving theater issues, and Nihad Gulamzadeh, head of "Asa" theater, discussed the relationship between the audience and theater. At the meeting, experts answered questions and offered various suggestions.
The final panel meeting of the forum was held in the second half of the day. Honored Art Worker Aligismat Lalayev, the director of the Azerbaijan State Academic Musical Theater, moderated the meeting.
During the panel focused on the development of human capital in the field of theater, attendees discussed various topics such as "Mechanisms for harmonization of demand and supply in theater education", "Theatre as an effective platform for the promotion of current issues", "The need to build a system and apply innovative ideas", "Festival movement in modern theater art" and " Personnel capacity in regional theaters.".
The Chief Director of the Azerbaijan State Academic Russian Drama Theater Alexander Sharovski, Dean of the Department of Theater Art of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts Buyukkhanim Talybova, the Chief Director of the Shaki State Drama Theater Mirbala Salimli, Director of the Azerbaijan State Theater of Young Spectators Nijat Kazimov, Producer of the Academic Musical Theater Irada Gozalova, and a theater critic and an employee of the Union of Theater Workers Daghlar Yusif shared their thoughts on the aforementioned topics. The discussions were fruitful and led to some interesting suggestions.
Thus, the two-day forum, which focused on the development prospects of the 150-year-old Azerbaijani professional theater, concluded its activities. It concluded with taking some pictures to commemorate the event.
