On August 21, a meeting took place at the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan to discuss the creation of a broadcasting platform connecting Turkic-speaking regions and states.
It was noted that in order to promote Azerbaijani culture, appropriate steps should be taken to support the development of the creative sectors, including the enhancement of the country's cinematic potential and the involvement of foreign experts in the local film industry.
The development of the local film industry requires support for dubbing infrastructure, the creation of new employment opportunities, and the promotion of business in this segment, all of which are key to promoting the Azerbaijani language in the modern digital age. For these purposes, special measures are to be implemented within the framework of the "Creative Azerbaijan" program.
This need is also included in paragraph 5.6.6 of the "Statute of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan," approved by Decree No. 119 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan of June 6, 2018, and in the corresponding section of the Action Plan for the "Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022-2026." One of the priorities for the implementation of this clause is to support the activities of market participants in cultural and creative industries (CCI), improve the production base, and promote sectoral clustering.
It was noted that research is being carried out to establish a broadcasting platform connecting Turkic-speaking regions and states, and a work plan to achieve this effect is in progress. In order to improve the platform and accelerate its creation, Nina Laricheva, the strategic and business consultant of the "BBC-Maestro" project, and Oktay Yusibov, the chairman of the "ATA-Association of Turkic Animation" organization, are involved in the project as experts.
It was emphasized that the platform, which will operate on a monthly or annual subscription basis, aims to offer both local and international content (with dubbing) and to provide its viewers with high-quality, culturally relevant programs.
