The Appeals Commission Holds the First Meeting Regarding the Results of the ARKA Film Project Competition
As reported earlier, the "Cinema Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan" (ARKA) has revealed the results of the film project competition held from July 18 to November 29 last year with the aim of expanding state support for the development of the film industry in the country, encouraging cinematographic endeavors, increasing the experience of local cinematographers, promoting the production of films that uphold national, moral, and universal values, as well as supporting the private sector in this field.
The Cinema Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan established a Screenplay Laboratory to support projects not selected in the competition, where independent production centers and other legal entities submitted projects in categories such as state order, commercial, author (art), debut, and student films. Under the leadership of the esteemed Turkish director and screenwriter Semih Kaplanoghlu, discussions for these projects took place within the script development program from December 11 to 25.
At the same time, an Appeals Commission was established for participants dissatisfied with the results of the competition. The first meeting of the Appeals Commission was held on January 8.
The members of the Commission expressed their opinions and suggestions regarding the projects submitted to the Appeals Commission. They pointed out the need for improvement in some projects, made suggestions on the work of the director, and emphasized the need for additions and changes.
At the meeting, it was decided to hold the next meeting of the Commission in the second decade of January.
