A postage stamp was issued to commemorate the declaration of Shusha city as the "Cultural Capital of the Turkic World" in 2023 by the decision of TURKSOY Permanent Council.

A ceremony took place during the Cultural Forum of the Turkic World on October 14 to officially seal the postage stamp titled "Shusha - the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World" on a "First Day Envelope."

Sitara Huseynova, head of the stamps department at “Azerpocht” LLC, provided information about the post stamp. She noted that the stamp was issued in a block of 1 stamp with an edition of 5,000 copies. The block bears the “Shusha-2023” logo, the flags of TURKSOY member states, and Shusha attributes. Its author is the artist Orkhan Garayev.

She further stated that 21 various post stamps were put in circulation on occasion of the 270^th anniversary of Shusha city. The stamps bear information about Shusha’s history, culture, its prominent figures, and a book titled “Shusha in Post Stamps” comprising the stamps was issued.

Then the Minister of Culture Adil Karimli, and the Secretary General of TURKSOY Sultan Raev sealed and signed the stamps.

Azerbaijan Represented at the 37th Moscow International Book FairThe 37th Moscow International Book Fair started in Moscow, Russian Federation, on September 4, 2024. State Service and Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Sign Memorandum of UnderstandingThe Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Protection and Restoration of Historical and Cultural Monuments Located in the Territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan was signed between the State Service for Cultural Heritage Conservation, Development, and Rehabilitation under the Ministry of Culture and the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation. Our Composers' New Works Added to Music and Art School CurriculaStarting from the academic year 2024/2025, the curricula of music and art schools will include compositions of modern local composers. The representatives of the Ministry of Culture and the Union of Composers of Azerbaijan discussed this at their meeting. Children's Creativity Center Named After Kurmangazy in Fuzuli Welcomes First StudentsStarting from the academic year 2024/2025, the Children's Creativity Center named after Kurmangazy in Fuzuli will offer continuous education in various fields of art. As part of the “Great Return“ program, piano, accordion, tar, violin, and dance classes will be introduced in the new school year for children of residents who have returned to their homeland from Baku and other regions. "Simurg" Ensemble from Azerbaijan Wins Grand Prix at the 13th Sharq Taronalari Festival in UzbekistanThe Grand Prix of the 13th Sharq Taronalari International Music Festival, held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, from August 26–30, was awarded to the “Simurg“ mugham ensemble from Azerbaijan. Lachin City Day Solemnly CelebratedLachin City Day was celebrated for the second time on August 26 under the organization of the Ministry of Culture and the Special Representation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Lachin region and with the support of “Baku Maintenance Service“ LLC. Maestro Niyazi’s Memory Honored in the Alley of HonorAugust 20 was the 112th anniversary of the birth of the world-famous conductor and composer, People's Artist of Azerbaijan and the USSR, Hero of Socialist Labor, and receiver of state awards, Niyazi (Niyazi Tagızadeh-Hajibeyov; 1912–1984). On this occasion, Jahangir Salimkhanov, adviser to the Minister of Culture, employees from both the State Museum of Music Culture and the Niyazi’s House Museum operating under it, as well as notable cultural figures, gathered at the Alley of Honor to lay flowers at the maestro's grave. Fuzuli Summer School Launches with an Opening CeremonyThe opening ceremony of the “Summer School in Fuzuli“ project took place on August 15 at the Children's Creative Center named after Kurmangazy in Fuzuli. National Cinema Day Celebrated with Ceremony The 126th anniversary of cinema in Azerbaijan was celebrated on August 2. This important date dates back to August 2, 1898, when the first films were publicly screened in Baku. According to the order signed by the national leader Heydar Aliyev on December 18, 2000, August 2 was declared the “National Cinema Day“ of Azerbaijan.
