A postage stamp was issued to commemorate the declaration of Shusha city as the "Cultural Capital of the Turkic World" in 2023 by the decision of TURKSOY Permanent Council.
A ceremony took place during the Cultural Forum of the Turkic World on October 14 to officially seal the postage stamp titled "Shusha - the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World" on a "First Day Envelope."
Sitara Huseynova, head of the stamps department at “Azerpocht” LLC, provided information about the post stamp. She noted that the stamp was issued in a block of 1 stamp with an edition of 5,000 copies. The block bears the “Shusha-2023” logo, the flags of TURKSOY member states, and Shusha attributes. Its author is the artist Orkhan Garayev.
She further stated that 21 various post stamps were put in circulation on occasion of the 270th anniversary of Shusha city. The stamps bear information about Shusha’s history, culture, its prominent figures, and a book titled “Shusha in Post Stamps” comprising the stamps was issued.
Then the Minister of Culture Adil Karimli, and the Secretary General of TURKSOY Sultan Raev sealed and signed the stamps.
