On October 11-14, 2023, Baku and Shusha will hold the II Meeting of Museums of the Turkic World. The event is organized jointly by the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan Republic, International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) and the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum.
The event aims to host the discussion of new projects and innovations in the museum field of the Turkic world, as well as exchange of experience and knowledge. The I Meeting of Museums of the Turkic World was held in Bursa, Turkey in 2022.
On October 11-12, 2023, the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum will hold the international conference Carpet as a Symbol of the Turkic World within the framework of the II Meeting of Museums of the Turkic World, where heads and representatives of museums, museologists, TURKSOY executives and other officials will participate.
The academic sessions will include the following topics: Carpet: Common Turkic Heritage; Tamgas: The Language of Carpet; Methods of Preservation, Conservation, and Displaying of Carpets in Museums. More than 30 specialists from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia (Moldova) will deliver their reports at the conference.
The Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum will sign the Memorandum of Understanding with the State Museum of the History of Uzbekistan and the Ankara Ethnography Museum within the framework of the conference.
On October 11, the conference participants will take part in opening ceremony of the exhibition of the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan held at the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum.
On October 13-14, the guests will join the First Cultural Forum of the Turkic World dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev held in Shusha.
The Meeting of TURKSOY Museums Union will be held in Shusha. The guests will visit the historical sites of Shusha.
